Welcome to CATL.The Center for Ancient Texts and Languages (CATL) is an organization focused on the study of ancient artifacts, particularly manuscripts and other media (such as amulets and ostraca) that preserve text. CATL wishes to raise awareness of the need to preserve, but even more to thoroughly study these artifacts. CATL supports the work of textual scholars in the Twin Cities area as well as working closely with world-wide efforts such as those of the International Greek New Testament Project, which has its two centers of operation at the University of Birmingham, England and the Institute for New Testament Textual Research in Muenster, Germany.
In support of these goals, CATL members offer instruction in ancient and modern languages such as Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, Latin, and German. We place high value on mentoring young scholars, teaching them skills and assisting them in furthering their postgraduate education. |
