The Intersection of Origen and Codex 1582: A Church Father Sheds Light on the Transmission of a Textual Family with Dr Amy Anderson
Textual critics have long recognized that the citations of a church father can assist in placing a textual family in a particular geographical location, time, and theory of transmission. This was the case in the original study of how the citations of Origen intersected with readings of Family 1 in Matthew. These original findings will be reviewed with updates, followed by a report on a similar study comparing the citations of Origen and Family 1 in Mark.
Dr Amy Anderson will be one of the plenary speakers at the 2024 Text and Manuscript Conference, May 30-31, 2024 in Plano, Texas. The conference will be held at the Marriot at Legacy Town Center.
